The Power of Positive Thought
The work of Dr Masara Emoto
A Japanese Doctor of Alternative Medicine, Dr Masara Emoto studied and wrote books on the power of thought and its effects on water. As the human body is between 70% and 55% water, this study is important in teaching us the importance of postive thought. Dr Emoto discovered that water was extremely sensitive to vibrations, and not only physical vibrations such as music and speech. He devoted several years to photographing the formation of ice crystals from water which had been "treated" in various ways. He had monks recite prayers, or Kotodama, over the water, played music for it, even taped words on the outside of small vials of water, all with remarkable effect. (Other scientists have done similar experiments with plants, speaking kindly to some and harshly to others to see if it had an impact on growth - which it did.)
Dr. Masaru Emoto discovered that ice crystals formed in samples of water reveal changes when specific, concentrated thoughts are directed toward them. He found that water from clear springs and water that has been exposed to loving words shows brilliant, complex, and colorful snowflake patterns. In contrast, polluted water, or water exposed to negative thoughts, forms incomplete, asymmetrical patterns with dull colors. This shows how our thoughts, attitudes, and emotions as humans deeply impact our environment.
Since water constitutes some 55% of the adult human body, his thesis is that these experiments demonstrate empirically the direct physical impact that thoughts, speech and emotions have, not only on water, but on these larger, more complex systems which are largely comprised of water. That includes humans. In other words we are what we think and, if a thought is a thing, we need to change our thought patterns to positive affirmations instead of having guilt trips about past life events or current situations.
Memories we store of a negative emotional or physical experience, or current worries, may block the flow of energy. Reiki healing may help to silently release these memories or resolve worries. Imagine your mind is in every cell of your body. Negative thoughts can cause blockages in the body. If we release the memory or worry we remove the obstacle.
Imagine persistant negative messages being absorbed by every cell in your body (your mind) wouldn't this make you feel depressed?
Negative thinking leads to heavy energy = depression.
Positive thinking leads to lighter energy = high spirits.
Good or bad - we are what we think!
This theory was featured in, and is best explained by the Docu-drama "What the Bleep do we know" which debates Quantum Physics. (N.B. not for the unquestioning believer)
